Whew! I'm sitting down behind a computer. What a rare thing to do
now days. This week has been ridiculous. I cant even remember half of
it. But we did baptize. Another miracle baptism occurred on Friday! I
didn't get to see the teaching phase of it because I was on splits at
the time, but Elder Barnett placed a spanish guy on Date for the next
day which was Friday and everything came together and he was baptized. I
had to conduct the screening interview in spanish. Some things in the
law of Chastity, I didn't know how to say, so that was awkward to
explain, but then he was interviewed by the district leader and the real
awkwardness was left to him. Hurrah.
I have been speaking to spanish people like nothing else lately. I
have finally learned how to challenge them to baptism and most of them
accept and then I send them off to the Renton Spanish Branch. Sometimes I
forget what I'm doing and I speak portuguese and then they just pretend
to know what I'm saying.
4 people were baptized in the Zone. That story about Chris, do you
remember that? HE GOT BAPTIZED! I called him after the baptism and
congratulated him. He felt great, and how could he not? It was great. I
reminded him to write in his journal and to remember how he feels. He
will be a great contributing member of the church.
About a month ago, I went on exchange to Tiffany Park. They are the
two best missionaries in the zone, bar-none. I met one of their
investigators, Lofi. A polynesian man whose family fed us very well. I
saw him later playing basketball and talked about his baptism date (this
weekend) and he said he was, and I qoute, "confident" in himself being
baptized! Two days ago the Tiffany Park Elders called and said "Our
investigator wants you to say the closing prayer at his baptism." I was
honored and overjoyed! Of course I will do that! Its so fun to work with
our own investigators and just as much of a joy to work with other
missionaries' investigators. We will bring at least one or more
investigators to that baptism to partake of the spirit.
I saw my second companion from Dash Point, Elder Palmer, at Zone
Conference this passed week. Our Zone conferences meet with 2-3 zones in
the same meeting so he is in a different zone. It was a cool experience
to see him again. This week, another 1st qourum Seventy is coming.
Elder Aidukitis. He is AWESOME! Plus, I get to see Elder Garner there
and I'm extremely excited about that!
Dad: Thanks for all the hard work you do for everyone, esspecially the family! I sure love you and I hope all is well.
Mom: Thanks for the update about the news. I try to find out as
much as I can about that stuff because a lot of people bring it up when
we knock on their door. It makes them wonder if God is there and I feel
like I can help them better when I know what they're talking about.
Thanks for the Guanana by the way. I got it this passed week and its
already gone. Eat healthy... right. I will repent and change.
Sorry, three minutes left so...
Elizabeth: Thanks for all those awesome pictures! They are
hilarious! I hope your stay down at mom and Dad's keeps going as well
and as fun as it already is. I sure love hearing about everyone.
By the way Rachel, I read that passport thing you gave me again
this week. I sure love that. Thank you so much. Thank you all for the
great advice, compliments, and love you left in there. I sure love you
all!
