A lot has changed. I am no longer in
Skyway. Elder Basilius and I were very said to leave each other. Elder
Garner was at transfers and I gave my step-son the biggest hug ever. He
felt like his last transfer was a crash and burn. But he baptized three
people and is the most pure missionary on the face of the planet. We
spoke a lot to each other. We told each other about things we could be
doing better at missionaries - things that we were doing together (good
habbits) that we are no longer doing. We will write each other this
transfer and encourage each other to be more faithful. He, Elder
Basilius, and I plan to room at BYU Provo together.
Guess who I am with? No seriously Guess. Guess who
my new companion is? ELDER FUKUYASU! We're Zone Leaders together. We're
back together for his last transfer in Maple Valley Zone! I want each of
you to know how much I love this Elder. I have said some really hurtful
things about him in passed letters, and I told him that I said those
things. I have repented about those things. Know that I am the one at
fault with anything bad that went on in our companionship before. He is
excited to be back with me. I think.
Elder Garner is now a District Leader and a trainer!
My step-son is going to have a son! I was so happy! He is still in Mill
Pond. He has another transfer to baptize 50 more people. So, I am now
in the Federal Way, Washington Mission. President Eaton, my soon-to-be
new mission President will arrive in 10 days. He was a former bishop in
the Star Lake Ward in Federal Way Stake. Elder Chandler, the former
Senior Zone Leader of Federal Way is now one of the First Assistants to
the President in the Washington, Federal Way Mission.
Guess who is in my Zone! Really, guess! Elder
Palmer! He was my third companion in the Washington, Seattle Mission.
Remember him? He was with me when I Skyped home for Christmas. I am so
grateful to hear he is in my zone!
Remember Edrienne??? Well the last two lessons we
had with her, she was reading the Book of Mormon, but not praying. So
the last two lessons we invited her to say a prayer, and didn't teach
her anything new. We just emphasized the importance of prayer. At our
last lesson together she said:
"Ya'll make me pray more than anyone else I have ever been with. You're really serious about this praying stuff aren't you?"
"Yes," I said "it is the only way you can know if baptism is for you. Will you say a prayer and ask God if this is true?"
She agreed, and said a beautiful prayer, asking for truth and direction. I felt happy. I felt so satisfied. I was doing my job.
"I'm starting to learn," She said, "I know I am probably a little bit slower than most folks."
We challenged her to pray and read everyday and she
accepted. I called her just before I was transferred and she was really
sad to see me go. I'll get permission to write her though.
So, Mom you had a question. "Who in the World is Dan Jones?" Well I'll be happy to tell you.
Dan
Jones is one of the greatest missionaries in this dispensation of the
Gospel. He baptized thousands of converts in one of the hitherto most
unsuccessful missions - Wales. Before this miracle, he was approached by
the mayor and the Cheif of Police in the City and was told that he
would be arrested if he continued to proselyte. What happened next is
similar to what happened to the Apostle Peter on the Day of Pentecost.
His Missionary life would never be the same. The scene is depicted on
Page 1 in Preach My Gospel. He ran to a
pedestal, stood on it, raised a Book of Mormon in the air and
proclaimed to the world the authenticity of the Book of Mormon and that
Jesus Christ died for us and also restored His church in these last
days!
